N2 - In the context of the current boom in Hispanoamerican chronicle, this article analyzes a characteristic aspect of this: the presence of an 'autobiographical turn' (Giordano, 2006, 2011), which modulates the function not only of the text but which implies a re-questioning of the author and narrator figures, and generic limits that have traditionally guided the critical work of the academy. To illustrate this process is discussed here from the production of five recognized Chilean contemporary writers: Alberto Fuguet, Rafael Gumucio, Roberto Merino, Francisco Mouat and Pedro Lemebel.
