Abstract
Starting from the analysis of descriptive and narrative strategies that characterize the travel narrative tradition, this paper questions the literary value of this work, beyond its well known utilitarian value (political, scientific, documentary). From this point, the concept of border is reformulated and expanded, allowing readers to understand it as an experience rather than a geographic space.
